The West Village is the low-rise, off-grid neighborhood in Lower Manhattan west of Sixth Avenue and south of 14th Street. It is a place you walk: brownstones, crooked streets, the Hudson, and Washington Square Park on its eastern edge. There is no ticket booth for the neighborhood.

The west edge meets Hudson River Park. The Stonewall National Monument (Christopher Park) is a small public park with a visitor centre nearby; check nps.gov for hours.
Bedford, Grove, and Commerce do not follow the numbered grid. That is the point of walking here rather than Midtown.
Neighborhood streets are public. Individual museums (for example the Whitney, technically in the Meatpacking District just north-west) have their own tickets.

Those are adjacent, not inside the historic Village core, and they are separate visits.
Is the West Village a ticketed attraction?
No. It is a neighborhood. Parks are public. Museums nearby sell their own tickets.
West Village vs Greenwich Village?
Overlapping historic names. West Village usually means the part west of Sixth Avenue. Washington Square is the eastern landmark people still fold into a Village walk.
Is Stonewall a museum?
The monument is a small public park. The visitor centre and nearby Stonewall Inn are separate. Check NPS hours.
Best subway?
West 4 Street if you want Washington Square first; Christopher Street for the west core.
Greenwich Village kept an older street pattern when the 1811 grid marched up Manhattan. The West Village is the quieter, residential western side of that story, later famous for nightlife, publishing, and LGBTQ history around Christopher Street.
Walk it. Use the subway. Do not try to park. If you want a museum, the Whitney is the nearby one with a river view, just outside the historic core.
